Haru no Yo: Shakuhachi Music for an Evening In Spring
Join us for an exciting evening of music featuring Japan's traditional bamboo flute, the shakuhachi. Featuring shakuhachi Grand Master Riley Lee (Australia) and local shakuhachi player Elliot Kallen (plus special guests), the program includes a wide variety of pieces; from the meditative sounds of traditional Zen music and the haunting ensemble music of shakuhachi and shamisen, to modern compositions from both performers and others. This is a "Don't Miss" opportunity to hear the shakuhachi in new and unexpected ways! Presented by Sonoma Matsuri Japanese Festival of the Arts. Refreshments courtesy of A Taste of Tea, Healdsburg.
