Online registration is closed. You may still register on site at 9:30 am on Sunday, July 31. Check-in time is 9:30 a.m. and the class is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31st and 12:00 - 4:00 on Monday, August 1. Please note that you need to fulfill the entire class time to receive the 10 CE credits. If you miss more than 15 minutes of the class, you will not received CE credit. Lunch is on your own from 1:00 - 2:00 on Sunday, 7/31; no lunch break is scheduled for Monday, 8/1. There are several restaurants and cafes in the near vicinity should you choose to go out for lunch. Check the internet ahead of time to see where you want to go and how to get there. Whole Foods, TanakaSan, Home Remedy, Far Eats, are good nearby bets, just to name a few. Our on campus cafe will be closed this day unfortunately. We are located on the corner of 6th and Bell in Belltown at 2326 Sixth AVE, Seattle, WA . Street parking and lot parking is available. Antioch Drama Institute: Active Strategies in Conflict Resolution (10 CE credits)

Dates/Times: July 31, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; August 1, 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

This module explores conflict as a force to be understood and even welcomed.  Looking first at the types of conflict, participants will then investigate several paradigms for literacy in the language of conflict resolution. Several creative Drama Therapy tools are shared, with tips for facilitating groups and working with individuals. Throughout, drama therapy's viability as a mediation tool and a useful adjunct in conflict resolution training will be confirmed.

Bobbi Kidder, MA, RDT/BCT

Bobbi Kidder co-leads the drama therapy specialization at Antioch University Seattle and is the director of the Drama Therapy Summer Institute.  She is author of IMAGINaction, a guide to using drama in classrooms and other settings. Bobbi has incorporated the principles of conflict resolution in her more than 30 years as a drama therapist  teaching, leading workshops in a variety of settings, and co-creating international projects. In 2014 Bobbi co-led the AUS Drama and Art Therapy India Initiative.   In 2015 she led in the production of Decades, an intergenerational project. Bobbi values improvisational skills and believes that having a clear understanding of the utility of imagination will promote a committed pursuit of its potential.
