Antioch Drama Institute: Active Strategies in Conflict Resolution (10 CE credits)

This module explores conflict as a force to be understood and even welcomed. Looking first at the types of conflict, participants will then investigate several paradigms for literacy in the language of conflict resolution. Several creative Drama Therapy tools are shared, with tips for facilitating groups and working with individuals. Throughout, drama therapy's viability as a mediation tool and a useful adjunct in conflict resolution training will be confirmed.
Bobbi Kidder, MA, RDT/BCT
Bobbi Kidder co-leads the drama therapy specialization at Antioch University Seattle and is the director of the Drama Therapy Summer Institute. She is author of IMAGINaction, a guide to using drama in classrooms and other settings. Bobbi has incorporated the principles of conflict resolution in her more than 30 years as a drama therapist teaching, leading workshops in a variety of settings, and co-creating international projects. In 2014 Bobbi co-led the AUS Drama and Art Therapy India Initiative. In 2015 she led in the production of Decades, an intergenerational project. Bobbi values improvisational skills and believes that having a clear understanding of the utility of imagination will promote a committed pursuit of its potential.
