YOU CAN GO HOME AGAIN: RICHARD RUSSO RETURNS TO NORTH BATH
Join Wayfinder Schools on Thursday, April 28 for the premiere reading of Richard Russo's new book, Everybody's Fool. The new book is the much anticipated sequel to Russo's 1993 bestseller, Nobody's Fool, later made into a hit movie starring Paul Newman, Jessica Tandy, Bruce Willis, Melanie Griffith and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The reading will be followed by a conversation between Russo and Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance Executive Director Joshua Bodwell.
Everybody's Fool is getting great early reviews, including a starred review from Kirkus, which said, "Russo hits his trademark trifecta: satisfying, hilarious, and painlessly profound."
This event will be held from 6-9pm at Waynflete School's Franklin Auditorium, 360 Spring Street, Portland. Join us from 6-7 for an author's reception with wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres (21 and over only). Reception tickets are $100 and include a signed first edition book and admission to the 7:00 reading. General admission tickets for the 7:00 reading are $35.
All proceeds from this very special event benefit Wayfinder Schools, Maine's oldest alternative high school. Wayfinder Schools offers at-risk Maine youth and teen parents a second chance to earn a state of Maine high school diploma. Wayfinder Schools helps students discover their strengths, practice personal responsibility and contribute to their communities.
