Ukranian/"Gypsy" Music Concert with Raven & Rose
An evening of Ukrainian and Eastern European folk music will accompany the CD Release of Raven & Rose with Coin of the Realm Orchestra on Friday March 25, 2016 at Bohemian Art Loft Redding, CA from 8-10 pm. The gypsy-folk orchestra is traveling through Redding, CA as part of their cross-country 25-city spring tour.
This orchestra has made their mark up and down the Oregon coast playing Ukrainian and eastern European folk songs on violin, guitar, trombone and accordion. The diverse sound is a husband and wife (Rosalie & Roy Crowe) duo with friend Gabriel Surley on percussion to keep the rhythm moving for our fun and dynamic spirit. David Konowalchuk plays the Kobza, a Ukrainian folk instrument he crafted himself, adding a flavor of cultural richness of the music.
