The lineup is Paolo Busignani returning as host/MC.
Likable, energetic, and charming are just a few words to describe Paolo Busignani. Did we mention funny? Growing up with a parent from San Marino, Italy and one from Detroit, Michigan; Paolo has the alluring blend of a boisterous, passionate Italian with a Mid-Western charm that gets audiences rolling with laughter. Growing up speaking Italish (an incoherent mix of Italian and English) he uses characters and storytelling to bring audiences into his world. He draws upon his family, painful life lessons, being a father, and his numerous opinions, to give his audience an experience they won't soon forget. Paolo got a late start to comedy but making his festival debut at Gilda's Laugh fest, he has quickly made up for lost time. Being very active in charities involving children, cancer research and veterans; he has performed for the Relay for Life, Burn Camp and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Whether he has performed in a club, festival, small town or big city; audiences can agree on one thing. He's funny!
Our special guest is Khurum Sheikh. Khurum is a 25-year veteran of the Ann Arbor Police Department and has done stand-up comedy throughout America, but was born in Pakistan. He will be the only Pakistani Police Officer doing stand-up comedy in Rochester youre apt to see in 2016!
Our feature is Dave McDonald. Is it a good thing, or a bad thing, to be voted class clown...of the police academy? Now retired from a life of fighting crime on the streets, Dave now fights boredom from the stage with his unique and hilarious observations of everyday life events, and emerges victorious.
Our headliner of the evening is Zach Martina. A supportive family, a loving relationship and kids who adore him, thats the American Dream. Unless youre Zach Martina, then its a recipe for skepticism and anxiety. Using his sarcastic wit, creative wordplay and a lovable arrogance, Zach brings his big personality to crowds across America as they wonder: I dont know what hes freaking out about, but its pretty funny. Performing at clubs across the country and at events such as the Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival, The World Series of Comedy and the Laugh Your Asheville Off Festival, Zach has had the good fortune to share the stage with the likes of Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords, Hannibal Buress & Rory Scovel. Zach brings an energy all his own and points the finger of blame at every single person; except himself.
