Corrales Garden Tour 2016

Six gardens showcasing a variety of environments are featured this year. One has a vineyard outside a wall hiding a shady courtyard with pond and waterfall, plus carefully chosen plants using little water. Another has special koi ponds framing a protected courtyard. It also provides a private outdoor living space with fireplace. One situated in Corrales' sandhills is designed to capture rainwater and prevent erosional runoff. It too has a lovely pond with sculptures. A lovely garden near the historic church has a large horse barn edging a yard with native plants in beds surrounded by winding paths. The patio has a wonderful mountain view with flowers in the foreground.Then there is a marvelous casual garden whose paths were hand laid with special tiles. A vegetable garden, chicken coops, courtyard pond and casita bordered by cactus complete this large yard. There are gardens to interest everyone with great ideas to share.
