Event
Amy Denio @ Seattle Sound Temple
On Saturday February 27, internationally acclaimed vocalist Amy Denio will share an evening of songs, improvisations and story telling at the Seattle Sound Temple in Fremont.
Recently elected to the Seattle Jazz Hall of Fame, Denio is a multi-instrumental composer, improviser and record producer. She has received many awards, grants and fellowships during her 30 years of musical innovation. She has released over 40 recordings solo and in collaboration with artists worldwide, and runs her own record label. She teaches creative music workshops, and is a Reiki practitioner.
She tours internationally with groups such as her Tiptons Sax Quartet, Kultur Shock, Sardinian/Italian sextet OU, and Sonata Islands Kommandoh.
'Once your have heard her perform, adoration could turn to something stronger. On stage (she) doesn't sing, she emotes. She has a remarkable stillness, an otherworldliness from which emanates melodies quite unlike what you may have heard before.' Vinod Advani, Sunday Times of India (Bombay)
