Grizzly Pears
The Grizzly Pears will bring their unique brand of New Orleans street Jazz, grinder blues, gypsy cabaret, and other musical styles to the Blue Sage on February 27, 2016. Featured musicians are Jon Hickam on accordion, resonator guitar and vocals, Lindsey Lazer Kid Kotowich on trombone and vocals, David Alderdice on percussion, and the Grizzly Pear's debut of Jeannette Carey on Sousaphone and flute. Special guest vocalist Dallas Desmond will also be singing a couple tunes.
Fresh-made sweet and savory tapas will be available with 100% of proceeds going to support the Learning Council. There will be band-designed cocktail and alcohol-free mocktails available in addition to local beer and cider.
Opening the evening will be the North Fork Community Parade and Stage Band, a true community band open to all teens and adults of various levels of experience that are interested in making music together. Part of the proceeds for the evening will be used to fund The Learning Council's support of the community band so that it can be continue free for all participants.
