Sketch Comedy Writing Class
Level I Sketch Writing Class introduces the basics of sketch comedy. It is open to anyone with a desire to write and interest in writing sketch comedy.
Each week participants will learn different genres of sketch comedy and write in those genres. They will also participate in table readings of sketches to experience the workings of a writer's meeting. Class will meet once a week for five weeks and students will be expected to write sketches outside of class.
Upon successful completion of Level I, participants will be invited to Level II Sketch Writing Class which will culminate in a sketch comedy showcase of work at the Good Acting Studio.
Classes are once a week on Wednesdays, starting January 20th, 2016.
Class time: 7:30pm-9:30pm
Tuition is $125 for the 5 weeks.
Instructor: John Babcock
John Babcock has written for television, radio as well as the stage. While attending Georgia State University, he wrote and produced a sketch comedy show for the campus television station. He has also contributed comedy sketches to The Neal Boortz Show on WSB Radio, Laughing Matters Comedy Troupe, and the sketch comedy show Free Parking at Dad's Garage Theatre Company. Mr. Babcock is a contributing writer to Turner Classic Movies, Agatha's - A Taste of Mystery, and the Mystery Cafe of Indianapolis.
John is a loving and dedicated husband and father who drives a sensible car.
