2016 WSU Oilseed Workshop - Dayton
The topics for this workshop were selected based on input by growers, industry and WSU Extension educators in the low to intermediate rainfall regions of southeast WA and northeast OR. Representatives from major oilseed buyers will provide a market update and what opportunities exist for selling winter and spring canola, mustard and flax in the PNW, while local growers and crop consultants will share their thoughts about growing oilseeds and the future of oilseeds in the PNW. Afternoon breakout sessions will include getting started with oilseeds in a cereal rotation; field diagnostics; the opportunities of livestock with canola; diseases, pests and beneficial insects; risk management; economics of having canola in a cereal rotation; and nutrient management.
Lunch and breaks are included in the registration fee, and the workshop will conclude with an industry sponsored social.
We are applying for Washington and Idaho Pesticide Recertification and CCA credits.
