Cars and Quinceañeras
A play by Susan Lieberman.
The pillar of his fractured Mexican-American family, Luis plans to play an important role at his sister Ana's Quinceañera, celebrating her fifteenth birthday. But the ambitious high school senior, who aspires to owning a luxury car business, finds his dreams derailed when his girlfriend Miriam becomes pregnant. While their mother makes practical arrangements for the baby, Ana must grapple with Luis' new reality as she tries to salvage her own dreams for a beautiful quince. Amid the turmoil of these conflicting expectations, Luis navigates his way from adolescent confusion to unexpected maturity.
