There is a legend, that deep in the snowy alps lays a cabin where some lost travelers sought shelter a long time ago.
As they stepped outside to check if the weather has cleared one of them discovered some lights glowing trough the snow. They approached and suddenly there was fire and music, all kinds of colors and creatures. The heavens seemed to have opened. So they danced, laughed and dreamed up a new world.
When the travelers woke up the next day with a dizzy head but feeling revitalized, the storm had cleared and there was no sign that anything exciting might have ever happened. With sudden ease they found the path to the next town and wondered, was it all a dream? Could it be reality?
All of us are travelers. Whether lost on our path or striding into the future with confidence. So let us come together in the spirit of taking a step of the path to celebrate that we exist, have each other and our shared love for wonder. And like in the story all signs of our adventure shall vanish.
What is nICE?
Previously known as "Fire- Up!", "Snowhere", "Thing In The Snow", "PISS OFF" or "FROST"; nICE is a yearly or so get together of people that are somehow connected through, or interested in, Burning Man and its regional sister events such as Nowhere. Although nICE is not an official Burning Man event, it remains true to the famous 10 principles. nICE is about coming together and celebrating connections. It's about friendship, art and inspiration.
This will be the 8th episode of our adventure in the snow. We're aiming to build a little Winter Wonderland in and around a lumber mill in the Emmenthal region in the beautiful Swiss Alps. You are invited to join in, to get active in true burner spirit and come up with inventive solutions to help us create a little village of our own with warm places and hot spots for everyone to share. You'll have lots of space to create warmth and comfort on the field. Help us build igloos or other kinds of shelter, or bring along your yurts, tepees or sweat lodges.

We operate on one principle only, we call it the Meister Prinzip. We are each fully responsible for what's going on in our proximity, to create the best experience for ourselves and everyone. That means that we take care of one another and our surroundings. If we see someone who needs help, we offer it, if we see some trash on the floor (or as we like to call it, MOOP) we pick it up, if we see something that needs to get done, we do it. We all run this event together and it is the responsibility of every single one of us to make it the best we can. This is a completely volunteer run event, and we all take responsibility for its content. If you want content, help us provide it. We want to create a safe space for everyone to enjoy, fully be themselves, and to be free to experiment. This means we need to respect one another and seek consent if we want to include someone in our experience; be that a photo, a touch, a hug, or anything else. Just be nICE!
