Cricket Cook-Off

Calling all adventurous eaters and cooks! Join us for Portland's first ever Cricket Cook-Off on Wed, December 9th. We invite you to show off your talents and palates using crickets. That's right. The kind that chirp.

When: Wednesday, December 9th from 6pm-9pm

Where: WeWork, 220 NW 8th Ave., Portland, OR

Tickets: Free to complete and $5 to eat. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Adventurous Eaters: Where else will you get to sample such an amazing array of cricket goodies? You'll also have the great honor of selecting the People's Choice Award for your favorite bite of the night. Tickets are $5 and must be purchased in advance.

Adventurous Cooks: We welcome cooks of all experience levels to design new dishes or recreate your favorite recipes using crickets. We've teamed up with three local companies - Poda Foods, Thinksect, and Cricket Flours - to provide cook-off contestants with whole crickets (frozen) or cricket flour (finely milled crickets). Did we mention there will be prizes?!

Prizes: Winners will be awarded across four categories along with a People's Choice Award. We are also partnering with Piqniq to award the best photo taken of the night using their recently launched app.

Post-Judging Celebration: Following the cook-off tasting & judging will be a reception featuring cricket dishes made by local chefs. You won't want to miss this!
