Paper Canoe Benefit

Paper Canoe's mission is to create innovative, entertaining performances for local family audiences. We believe that families that share stories together make happier families and happier families create happier communities. Light was born through the New Victory Theater Labworks Residency program, and will premiere March 19th 2016 and run through May 1st 2016 in the newly renovated Muriel Schulman Theater at Triskelion Arts in Greenpoint.

Light is a world premiere theatrical adventure. Eleven year old Moth lives in a world without light. Here nobody remembers that there was once a sun. Folks are too tired to notice the odd and sinister workings of their city. But when Moth's mother is overcome by "The Sleep," Moth is forced to unplug from the world she knows and discover the power of her imagination. On this journey, she unexpectedly finds a host of lost misfits who, together, just might save the day.

Paper Canoe is dedicated to fostering creativity, sparking wonder and providing a vital space where we, young and old, can gather together as a community.
