The Wallace Collection
The Wallace Collection is one of London's most unique museums. This 18th century townhouse has a shimmering collection of indulgent Rococo froth, French objets d'art and stunning paintings by Titian, Rubens, Rembrandt, Velazquez, Fragonard, Boucher and Watteau. This tour will journey in time from the rigorous etiquette of Louis XIV's court to the decadently saucy scenes of Madame de Pompadour's France and the tragic execution of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI. Along the way we will discuss the history of the house, the development of the collection, the Hertford family and of course, Richard Wallace.
