Event
The Prestigious BP Portrait Awards
This Art Shot will be a fast paced exploration of portraiture in England from the 1500s to the present. Starting off with the Tudors, we shall discuss the original purpose of portraiture, decode its hidden symbols and look at some of England's most venerated characters, from Henry VIII to Elizabeth I, Charles I and Queen Victoria. For the last half of the tour, we shall visit the prestigious BP portrait award. There we will see how emerging portrait artists are keeping the tech-obsessed audiences of today excited and engaged with one of art's oldest mediums.
*If you have bought more than one Art Shot ticket you can Either split them up and come on a number of different Art Shots Or you can give tickets to friends to join the same Art Shot as you Please email info@arthistoryuk.com to tell us how you'd like to use your Art Shot tickets.
