Model and Master at National Gallery
Explore the intimate relationships between models and their masters. On this Art Shot we'll consider the National Gallery's most sensuous nudes and delve into the often murky world of the model to discover the real women who lie behind. We'll look at works by Titian, well known for his use of highly paid courtesans as models and dining companions; Rubens and his fascination with his teenage wife's opulent body; and Velazquez's famous Rokeby Venus with his flouting of the Catholic Church's disapproval of nudity. Moving on into the Impressionist wing we'll consider Cezanne's nudes and Degas dancers and learn about the demi monde world in which these ground-breaking artists and their models lived in.

*Cancellation Policy
If you cancel within a week of the event, half the cost of the tour will be refunded. If you cancel within 24 hours of the tour, we regret that we will not be able to refund any of the cost. Please note that we can only run this tour if we have an attendance of 5 people. If we have to cancel the tour we will give a week's notice.
