The Cherry Orchard
Come and enjoy one of Chekhov's masterpieces, The Cherry Orchard, performed by members of the Scaffold State Training company.
Rehearsed in only 60 hrs, this performance over three nights is the culmination of the dedicated work of a group of non-professional actors meeting once or twice a week for the past 3 months.
Support the fantastic work of the company and applaud great performances as the characters are brought to life in a dynamic and touching rendition of the trials and tribulations of the Gayev estate. Can the Cherry Orchard escape the axe, or will it and the old world it represents finally give way to the changes sweeping across Russia at the turn of the 20th century? Can a broken family reunite in order to preserve their history?
The training company have already completed an introductory course to acting, and have made a devised piece of theatre. This marks their first public performance. Come and share in their excellent work as they develop as a company of actors.
Cast: Rasha Shaheen, Jo Corrigan, Hayley Oakes, Korina Ioannou, Francesca Farina, Ashwani Jha, Max Whiteley, Jean-Frederic Garcia, Nathan Townsend, Shane Antonio, Fabrizio Colonna, Leo Acker and other members of the Scaffold State Training Company.
Directed by Gareth Kennerley
