Harvest the Rain From Landscapes to Cisterns
Have you noticed that the rainy Northwest can have a summer drought? In this comprehensive class we will look at the many ways that rain may be stored for use in your vegetable or ornamental home garden. You will learn about various techniques including mulch, swales, rain gardens and barrels, green roofs and cisterns.  If you are looking to capture and store thousands of gallons of water, a larger system may be for you. Our experts will reveal the basics and benefits of cisterns and how a cistern system works. Class participants will receive resource information to help them customize their rainwater management at home. This class will consist of an indoor lecture and an outdoor tour. Please dress for the weather.
