Technology that was supposed to make young adults more astute, diversify their tastes, and improve their minds didn't. They Facebook, text, throw birds at pigs, and MMS racy self-pics.
Author Mark Bauerlein has a catchall term for all these young people, especially those now in high school, and honored them by naming his book after them, "The Dumbest Generation: How the Digital Age Stupefies Young Americans and Jeopardizes Our Future."
