John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men
Set during the Great Depression, George and Lennie make an unlikely pair. George is intelligent and quick-witted; Lennie is child-like but possesses great strength.
Both men need each other.Together, they set out to make enough money to have their own place and to live off the fat of the land.
But their dream of a better future is in jeopardy - not only by the group of lonely strangers that they meet on a new ranch, but by Lennie himself, whose love of soft things proves to be their worst enemy.
Written by John Steinbeck from his own classic novel, Of Mice and Men is based on Steinbeck's own account of his life as a ranch hand during the 1920's.
Of Mice and Men is the story of the American Dream - to be somebody, to be secure and independent, to be accepted.
Of Mice and Men contains strong language and racial comments of the times it was written. Hay bales are also present on stage.
