My name is Elena Betancourt Garcia from Elena y los Tejano Ryders. Our band was established in 2010 and has been working hard to get our name out to the tejano people. I started singing when I was five years old in Parlier Ca. I would practice and practice every day singing in talent shows and anywhere else they would let me. Then one day my brother Ruben Betancourt from Ruben y la Nueva onda found out that I had a voice and asked me to take the place of my sister Eliza Galaviz. She wanted to take a break and spend time with family. Me being 15 at the time, had no ties to anything only my momma. So I said yes and was one of the lead singers in Ruben y la Nueva onda. Being on stage is the one of the best feelings in the world besides having my three children. All that energy from the crowd and the band only made me want to keep going and try to be the best I can be. When my brother Ruben decided to take some time off, my brother Jose Betancourt and I decided to keep on going and see where it takes us. That's when we formed Elena Y los Tejano Ryders. We have Eric Rodriguez on bass, Ray Alanis on drums, Joel Gloria on accordion, Juan Galvan on guitar, Jose Betancourt on keyboards, and Me Elena Betancourt Garcia on lead vocals. Fifteen years I have been in this business and I'm just getting started. It has made me even more passionate about what I do and I just hope that everyone will take a ride with us on this journey that's just beginning.
Ruben y la nueva Onda started back in 1995, started out as a family group with his brothers and sisters Elisa Jose and his baby sister Elena came along in 2010, we have been performing throughout the central San Joaquin Valley including the TEJANO fanfare in San Antonio Texas and as far up north to Oregon and every where in between. It's sure been an awesome time on the road performing with great musicians, the drummer and my compadre Jesus Cuevas jr, . The Bass player Mr Eric Rodriguez, the guitar player Juan Galvan, and my brother on the keyboards Jose E Betancourt . As I celebrate my 20th anniversary with the band, I look back and I am amazed as how time flies. I wouldn't give it up for the world.i just like to take time out to thank all the bands families their kids the wives and of course my beautiful wife Rosa Betancourt for always being there for me , hope to see you all on the road soon, God bless you.
