The Menu~
I chose foods and edible aromatics that have a reputation for the sensual, romantic, erotic, and for opening the heart to love. All perfect for Valentine's Day.
Pomegranates and figs are the fruits for Lovers and Gods
The color of the red beets represent Love and The Heart.
The texture of Tapioca Pearls in the mouth with the creamy inside of the aphrodisiac oyster is quite sensual. This dish is infused with a champagne sabayon for celebration!
The scent of vanilla with saffron is a delight for the senses and is delicious in this delicate savory dish.
The Vanilla plant is an orchid and is considered the most highly evolved of all flowers, having both male and female organs. It encourages a deep desire to embrace and express the union of sensuality. It is also used in magical ritual to attract one's romantic partner, if one does not already have someone.
Rose, The Queen of Flowers, has a timeless link as a symbol of Love.
Rose opens the heart, and brings warmth to the Soul, healing our emotional wounds and restoring the trust that makes it possible to Love again.
There may be other herbs, spices, and oils in the dinner that are also known
to cleanse and soothe the Heart, making it ready for Love.

The Event
Celebrate Valentine's by Removing Blocks to Intimacy and Healing Love
Romance and relationships can pose more problems than possibilities for many of us. And yet, the research and experts agree that we live longer, healthier lives when we are connected to others in a meaningful way. This is especially true of romantic relationships which can provide a plethora of health benefits. But the benefits of love can seem illusive if you have experienced disagreements, bickering, painful break-ups or betrayal. Worse, some of us have seen the truly ugly side of intimacy including infidelity, dishonesty, emotional devastation and even various forms of abuse.
How then can those of us who have loved and lost, find our way to a healthier, happier reality?
A good start to answering that question for yourself might be just a few days away in the form of the first event of its kind in this area entitled Love, Sex and Relationships in 2012: Connecting Spirituality and Sensuality.
Featuring an illustrious list of practitioners and educators, Love, Sex and Relationships offers free mini-workshops and presentations of special interest to anyone wishing to heal their love life or create more intimacy in an already amazing relationship.
Trained and certified in the Peter Levine Method of Somatic Experiencing , Savana Brunet can help you heal traumatic events and unlock stuck emotional blocks in your body. Patterns that block the energy that the body needs and uses for health, vitality and intimate connections are often locked deep in places inaccessible to traditional methods of approach, thus people can go for years and the trauma or event seems like "it just happened yesterday". Savana brings a uniquely intuitive healing approach to this practice, and she will be presenting at 2:30PM.
Nik and Barbara Colyer are offering a one hour mini Bridge Workshop at 1PM. This workshop provides a uniquely safe place where men and women can introduce themselves to their opposites without the habitual sexual dance. Utilizing experiential interaction, participants carefully step along a path of deeper connection toward the ultimate goal of trust and intimacy. The Frys echo the intentions of all the presenters when they invite you to discover whole new aspects of yourself, become fully present and create positive change and healing for yourself so you can enjoy every aspect of life to the fullest!
At 7PM, you will be offered a variety of entertaining and sensuous options, including Kris Ellen's Cuddle Party, described as a safe, cozy, nurturing workshop where we explore clear communication, empowered choices, and "non sexual" nurturing touch. Or you can enjoy an aphrodisiac feast presented
with playful exercises to create more exploration into your sensuality. And of course, what would a Valentine celebration be without music and dance?!
