BYOB Flamenco Class
Bring your favorite drink, your friends and let's dance flamenco! This class is designed to benefit flamenco newbies and those with experience. Learn flamenco steps in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, fiesta style :)

The class is mainly targeted to women, and we are not going to work on a choreography for couples this time, but men are welcome as well.

This Saturday we will be working on a beautiful dance called Guajira. Guajira is a flamenco style influenced by the Cuban culture and a song referred to as "cante de ida y vuelta" which means song of going and coming back, or rather a round-trip song. Guajira is one of several examples of how flamenco was influenced by migrations happening during the 19th century. The lyrics of guajira talk about life in Havana and Cuba. It's a very sweet and sensual dance and many times it is danced with an "abanico" (fan).

Have a drink, learn steps and dance dance dance!

What's included?
1. One hour instructional dance class.
2. Three hours of event time in the studio in the heart of Little Five Points.
3. Flamenco shawls and flowers to dress up for the class.
4. Lot's of fun!
5. Free parking

Event schedule:
1st hour - mingle and drink. Ask me any question you have about flamenco!
2nd hour - flamenco class. A short and easy fiesta style choreography.
3rd hour - dance the choreography or be inspired to create your own steps.

Dress code/what to bring:
Your choice of clothing, but this is your chance to bring that inner gypsy in you! Talking long skirts with ruffles, and above all polka dots, the signature print of flamenco!
I recommend bringing shoes with a low, wide heal, but any heal will work as well. Just try to stay away from sneakers as they are harder to dance flamenco in.
