Iranian Voices - Dramaturgy and Writing Workshop
Iranian Voices is an international radio project led by Riksteatern (the National Theatre of Sweden.)
The UK has now joined Germany, Turkey and Spain, to develop these plays in English - gathering together a talented artistic team of producers, directors, actors, studio production teams and dramaturgs to deliver a collection of radio plays. The plays are all based on true stories, and look at human rights through the lens of Iran.
The workshop will explore: -Approaches to collaboration in creating a radio script working with directors. -Working from translated testimonials in developing a script for UK radio audiences. -Developing a feel and tone that balances drama and documentary.
You are requested to bring scripts that you are working on as part of the workshop. Examples from Iranian Voices will also be used in the workshop.
Aimed at: Theatre Makers, Radio Makers, Academics and Human Rights Activists interested in art as activism.
Led by Bettina Gracias, Dramaturg on Iranian Voices, and another artist from the project will also be facilitating.
Duration 2hrs The workshop will be in English. Maximum of 6 participants.
