What might drive a woman to violence in the face of anguish, unrest, and an overwhelming desire to revolt?

Traditional murder ballads are often exercises in misogyny, spinning tales of women killed by their lovers and partners for trespasses in adultery or pregnancy. True events, transcribed in lyrics and lending voice to the dead, a murder's details are immortalized in song. A collaboration between Tricklock Company and playwright Idris Goodwin, Her Murder Ballad explores these narratives of violence and modern injustices against women, in addition to the stories of women who murder.

Her Murder Ballad is a movement based, musically rich, socio-politically charged theatrical experience drawing from a variety of performance styles, featuring an all-female ensemble.
