"An Awakening" devised by Toussaint Jean Louis, Director/Founder of HOME B.A.S.E., ventures on the quest for Balance and Amplification. Strike the most effective, positive, and progressive chord with every step and word. With stillness of the mind open peace in chaos and move past it. Be the change you want to see in the world confidently. Take responsibility and make your mark.
*Session 1: Introduction to "Foundation of Your Story"
Saturday 9am-12pm
Core Alignment and Potential of the Body and Mind. Your Body is your Mind, train it. Through aerobics and strength training followed by dance contact-improv participants will find awareness and confidence in every movement they make. The ultimate goal is to acknowledge and focus the dialogue between body and mind to connect them so that they move accordingly.
Participants will walk away energized, refreshed, and prepared to move through the day with peace in mind and body.

How do we positively and fully inhabit the words we use to describe ourselves? By connecting our body to our words so that we are walking volumes.
The duty of the "Actor" is to Be the character. The ultimate goal for participants is to Be the Character they envision in their lives so that they may reach their future self.
A continuation of Foundation of our Story, participants will stay grounded in reality while working with selected monologues and personal writing exercises created from Stanislavski's "Creating a Role" and "The Actor Prepares" (to be assigned and completed before the session and after. All personal work is private and confidential. The class primarily focuses on monologues, text, and song presented).

*Session 3: Introduction to "Discovering Your Chords"
Sunday 1-4pm
How do you sing your song and for whom? Are you listening carefully to others so that you may find the resonate (support) you/they seek? This session is furthering the quest for balance and amplification in relationships and daily practices by building awareness.
Using vocal and breathing concepts from Linklater and Roy Hart practices, and training exercises discovered in working with Maisternia pisni, participants will begin to gain an understanding and connection to the power of their voice and their notes.

At sunset, there will be a candle ceremony facing the ocen to send out the old energy and bring in the new followed by a small potluck. Let your candle burn bright.

Participants may take one session if they choose. The Goal of the three sessions in succession is to continuously build and awaken the senses and create awareness of self. Devised so that we start by awakening the body as our foundation, connecting it to the mind, and then to release the soul.
