Learner Objectives: At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to: ~ Describe how misinterpretation of infant behavior may lead to inappropriate infant-feeding practices. ~ Differentiate the six infant states of arousal and awareness. ~ Demonstrate ability to distinguish between different types of infant cues. ~ Describe normal infant sleep patterns in the first six months of life. ~ List 2 factors associated with "persistent crying" among young infants. ~ List at least three "Baby Behavior" messages that may be shared effectively and inoffensively with parents of infants.
