An Evening of One-Act Plays
WASP: In the fractured landscape of 50s suburbia, a prototypical white protestant family exists in a dark limbo of expectation and routine. Mom is surrounded by people but deeply alone, dad speaks in delicious platitudes, and the children fear anything new. The play vibrates with satire and dark lyrical irony as the family meanders blindly toward catastrophe.
The Receptionist: At the start of a typical day in the Northeast Office, Beverly deals effortlessly with ringing phones and her colleague's romantic troubles. But the appearance of a charming rep from the Central Office disrupts the friendly routine. As the true nature of the company's business becomes apparent, The Receptionist raises disquieting, provocative questions about the consequences of complicity with evil.
