Burning: A Bridge is a new theatrical work written by Kimberley Dawkins and directed by John Dickinson. It explores the idea of artifice and the changes that distance can create in relationships through a combination of text, movement and performance art.
Burning: A Bridge is an exploration of the struggle to maintain relationships as we grow up and move apart. Jay is riding a rush of opportunities across the country that she is not, technically, qualified for. Clara feels trapped at home with commitments to school and family; dwarfed by her friend's apparent success. Are they doomed to drift apart? The play exists in this common question of early adulthood with burlesque and sideshow acts to help show us that though the question may be common, it is by no means simple or small.
