Hoaxocaust
What role should past horrors play in defining our religious views, our self-perception, even our politics? Is there such a thing as a contemporary Jewish identity independent of the Holocaust? Should there be? What if the Holocaust had never happened? Join Barry in an unbelievable round the world adventure as he tracks down deniers from Illinois to Iran, meets engineers and ex-presidents, and dodges a brother in Hungary and a boyfriend back home on a journey to discover the shocking truth. Developed at FringeNYC, The New Group, Theater for the New City (David M. Milch), the Cell, and Prospect Theater Company, Hoaxocaust! won the Fringe Festival's 2014 Overall Excellence award, and returns in the FringeNYC Encore Series: Solo in the City for four additional performances at the Baruch Performing Arts Center.
The show is followed by a talk-back discussion.
