Oktoberfest: Secrets of Philadelphia Museums
Join the Museum Council of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley for our annual fall networking event on Thursday, November 10, 2011!  Hosted at the American Swedish Historical Museum, Oktoberfest: Secrets of Philadelphia Museums will provide an enjoyable evening of networking opportunities and entertaining education for students and museum professionals.  

The program runs from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with light refreshments and fall-themed beverages, from Art in the Age and Philadelphia Distilling. Learn about the museum, participate in activities that will take you all around the its fascinating exhibits, and start a dialogue with new colleagues. Prizes will be awarded!

As a key part of the Secrets of Philadelphia evening, listen to a brief presentation by Thomas H. Keels, author of the books Forgotten Philadelphia: Lost Architecture of the Quaker City, Wicked Philadelphia: Sin in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia Graveyards and Cemeteries, and his upcoming book Rainbow Cities. Keels will discuss the 1926 Sesquicentennial and the birth of the American Swedish Historical Museum.

Cost, including museum admission and all food and drinks, is only $5 for students, $12 for Museum Council Members, and $20 for non-members.

The American Swedish Historical Museum is located at 1900 Pattison Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19145, a ten-minute walk from the AT&T station (formerly Pattison station) on the Broad Street subway line.
