CALLING ALL HISTORY AND FOOD LOVERS!

This 3.5 hour itinerary combines a walking tour of the Capitol  On this 3.5-hour guided walking tour, you'll learn about fascinating aspects of Rome's history, visit the sites of famous cultural events, and discover many of the city's oldest traditions. All of this while sampling delicious food tastings from some of the city's most loved local trattorias, markets, gourmet stores, bakeries, and ice cream shops. Learn how these foods are prepared and why they have become essential parts of the Roman Kitchen.

Meet the colorful and authentic local characters whose families have been making these Roman food treasures for generations and hear their wonderful stories.

This is an insider's view of Rome that few tourists get to experience. After the tour, explore Rome armed with a new sense of confidence and, as well as your take-away guide to many of our favorite restaurants and other foodie destinations in Rome.

The Evening Food Wine and Sightseeing Walking Tour takes place in the historic neighborhood of the Capitol Hill, the oldest in Rome. Enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, this tour is suitable for all age groups and fitness levels.

- Antico Forno Roscioli - Great insider address for local delis and pizza.

- Grappolo D'Oro - this restaurant is an institution in Rome serving authentic Carbonara and Amatriciana.
- Giolitti - Family run gelateria making homemade gelato for over a century (est. 1910)

-There is no minimum number of participants
- The maximum group size is 12
-There are several places to sit and all the walking in on very flat terrain
- There is a no cancellation policy. Tours will occur rain or shine.

MEETING LOCATION

In the neighborhood of the Capitol hill near the Piazza Venezia (exact meeting location details will be provided immediately upon purchase of tickets).

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE TICKETS IN ADVANCE? CAN I PAY CASH?
All tickets must be purchased in advance. Cash sales are not allowed.

HOW LONG IS THE TOUR?
The duration of each tour is between 3 and 3.5 hours

HOW MUCH FOOD IS SERVED ON THE TOURS?
Over the course you will be enjoying 7 delicious food tastings enough for a hearty lunch that will not leave you hungry.

HOW MUCH WALKING IS ON THE TOUR? HOW IS THE WALKING PACE?
Tours last between 3-3.5 hours and for the majority of the time we will be on our feet. The tours are led at a very casual pace.  

IS THERE A WINE TASTING INCLUDED ON THE TOUR?
Yes at one of the tasting locations we will be sampling some wine. It is included in the ticket price.

WHAT IF I HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS OR FOOD ALLERGIES?
Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or food allergies when you purchase your ticket and we will accommodate your needs.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN TAKE THE TOUR?
The maximum number of people on a tour is 12.

ARE BATHROOMS AVAILABLE DURING THE TOUR?
Yes bathrooms are available at several of the food tasting locations.

ARE CAMERAS PERMITTED ON THE TOUR?
Cameras are most certainly permitted and photos are absolutely encouraged.  

ARE THERE FOOD TASTINGS AVAILABLE FOR VEGETARIANS?
Yes our tours are vegetarian friendly. Please notify us of your dietary restrictions when you purchase your ticket.

ARE TOUR GUIDE GRATUITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
Gratuities are not included in the ticket price and they are always greatly appreciated. The industry standard for walking tours in Rome is 15%.

CAN YOUNG CHILDREN PARTICIPATE ON A TOUR?
Children of all ages whether walking or in a stroller can take one of our tours. If they are not participating in the food tastings than there is no cost, otherwise please make purchase a child's ticket.

WHERE DOES THE TOUR END?
Where the tour ends is about a 5-minute walk from where the tour begins.
