"The Glass Menagerie" is a memory play with its action drawn from the memories of the narrator, Tom Wingfield, an aspiring poet who toils in a shoe warehouse to support his family. Tom's mother, Amanda has certain expectations for her children while Tom's sister, Laura, often escapes to her world of figurines. Mr. Wingfield, Tom and Laura's father, ran off years ago and, except for one postcard, has not been heard from since. The play recalls the struggles of the family as they discover the truth behind their lives. A true American classic.
