The Last Five Years
The Last Five Years, an emotionally powerful and intimate modern musical by Jason Robert Brown, explores the life of one New York City relationship from first sparks to final parting. The show's unconventional structure depicts Cathy, a struggling actress, telling her part of the story backwards in time while Jamie, a novelist quickly growing in popularity and acclaim, tells his story chronologically. Passionate, hopeful, devastating and honest, this unfiltered look at love, career and all the struggles that both can bring, shows us that we're all just a few pivotal choices away from either a "hello" or a "goodbye."
