Reaching for the Stars 2015, an SOS Children's Villages Fundraiser

What is our goal?
To raise a minimum of $50,000 to support two SOS Children's Villages Greece families, which includes the cost of living, food expenses, educational-professional training, psychological and psychosocial support and harmonization with the social environment. Each family consists of 5-7 children and one SOS Mother. The yearly expenses for food, clothing, education, pharmaceutical and medical expenses as well as the salary of the SOS Mother come up to $25,000CDN per family.
Why are we doing this?
We are very excited to announce our upcoming fundraising gala Reaching for the Stars: Anything is Possible, an event aimed to raise funds for the SOS Children's Villages in Greece, specifically for the villages in Vari and in Plagiari, Thessaloniki.
SOS Children's Villages believe that every child should belong to a family and grow up with love, respect and security, which is why this recognized organization has provided abandoned, orphaned and destitute children with a new and permanent home.
We believe in working together, we as members of the Greek diaspora in Canada in assisting underprivileged children in Greece to overcome their challenges and reaching for the stars.
Last year, we all gathered together, oli mazi, and reached our goal to take care of all the needs for one SOS Children's Villages family: Asteris, Panagiotis, Mazin, Konstantinos, Angeliki, Marilena, Reni and SOS mother, Mrs. Sevi Moschou. We look forward to supporting/adopting our family again for the year, in addition to a new SOS family in Plagiari, Thessaloniki.
