The Kitchen Diva Cooks with Carver Library
BY POPULAR DEMAND, SECOND SHOW ADDED @ 2 PM!
Host of PBS' "The Kitchen Diva!", regular guest chef and segment creator on "Dr. Oz", and Austin resident Angela Shelf Medearis will share funny life experiences from her involvement in the publishing world as she prepares recipes from from her best-selling cookbooks "The New African-American Kitchen", "The Ethnic Vegetarian" and her latest, "The Kitchen Diva Cooks!"
In addition to TV appearances, Medearis is also a food, lifestyle and entertainment columnist for 1300 Hearst/King Features newspapers in the United States and Canada. She also edged out Chef Bobby Flay with her jerk chicken in an episode of the Food Network's "Throwdown."
"I'm determined to change the negative viewpoint most Americans have about African-American cuisine," said Medearis. She uses her visibility to educate folks about the ability of food to enrich lives and improve health, and to get people to try something new.
Medearis will have copies of her books available for sale and signing after the presentation. Sales are cash or check only. Titles will range from $5 to $25.
Due to space limitations, tickets are required. Quantities are limited. A free ticket may be downloaded for printing or can be sent to your smartphone for admission at the event.
