Slow Food Eugene Pot Luck Dinner and Camas Country Mill Tour
Here's another chance to get up close and personal with the local bean and grain movement! Last year we toured the Hunton Farm and saw their plantings of lentils, wheats, teff, and beans. Now we get to see the new mill facility that they recently completed.
Join Slow Food Eugene and Camas Country Mill for a fun evening celebrating this latest piece in our continuing efforts to support bean and grain production in the Willamette Valley.
We will hear from the Huntons about the mill and their current bean and grain products, as well as the products that they hope to introduce in the near and far future.
Naturally we will also celebrate this great addition to our local food system with a great meal, by way of the Indian sub-continent. Slow Food Eugene will provide the flatbreads (think the thinner types like rotis rather than naan) made out of garbanzo bean flour (garbanzos grown by the Huntons);
You bring an Indian dish inspired by the bounty of our local area. Feel free to make locally influenced chutneys, raitas, dahls (did you know that there are locally grown lentils now available?), curries, parathas, gobis, just to name a few, there are so many possibilities!
As always, please bring your own plates, flatware, cups, and a beverage. No alcohol please.
Space is limited, so buy your tickets right away.
