Live Arabic Music. Tickets available at the door. Santa Cruz Arabic Music Ensemble directed by Elias Lammam
Join us for an enchanting evening of Live Arabic Music and singing with the Santa Cruz Arabic Music Ensemble directed by world-renowned Arabic musician, composer and singer Elias Lammam of Lebanon.
Popular Arabic music representing many countries and rhythms. Tarab music as well as popular dance tunes including songs of Om Kolthum, Fairuz, Abdel Halim Hafez, Mohamed Abdel Wahab and the Rahbani brothers. The Ensemble includes several known bay area musicians including veteran jazz bassist Cary Nichols and surprise guest artists.
Come swing & shimmy with the Santa Cruz Arabic Music Ensemble, or just sing along on your favorite classic Arabic tunes.
There will be space for social dancing. Family-friendly show. All ages welcome. Open seating.
About Elias Lammam
Recognized as a child prodigy by the age of 12, Elias Lammam began his professional performing career in Lebanon at the age of 13, performing on the micro-tonal accordion. Elias completed his music studies at the Lebanese Music Conservatory, majoring in voice and composition, and was the staff composer/arranger for Dubai TV for many years. He teaches in Santa Cruz & San Jose. Elias trains and directs the Santa Cruz Arabic Music Ensemble.
