Queer Queens of Comedy in Houston
Providence RI:  June 15th: There is a unique comedy revue that is touring the country with some of the funniest, edgiest, talented and most outrageous comics, united by the single theme... The Queer Queens of Qomedy.
     
Producer and internationally known comedian Poppy Champlin, as seen on HBO, Oprah and Showtime, artfully selects the best of the best lesbian comics from across the country to join her at each comedy venue.  Now, in it's tenth year, Poppy is being asked by many of the clubs to bring it back.

Poppy has chosen two of the best to come back Houston. The Hilarious Vickie Shaw and the awesome Sandra Valls.

Sandra Valls was voted by Latina Magazine as one of the Top 33 Bad Ass Comics with Latin Roots. Originally from Laredo Texas, she now resides in Los Angeles.  A brash high energy outrageously funny in your face comic, Sandra was recognized by Curve Magazine as one of the Top 10 funniest lesbian comics to watch out for. Sandra can currently be seen performing in two Showtime Comedy specials: The Latin Diva's of Comedy and Pride: the Gay and Lesbian Comedy Slam hosted by Bruce Vilanch. Other Television credits include Out laugh Festival, One Night Stand-Up (LOGO) Comic's Unleashed with Byron Allen (ABC) and BET's Comic View.  

Vickie Shaw is from Texas where she says, "the speed limit is a suggestion." Vickie is a veteran comic who was part of Comedy Central's flagship show Premium Blend she also has a one hour comedy special on LOGO called "You Can Take The Girl Out of Texas!" Vickie's been working the Gay circuit for many years making that yearly pilgrimage to Provincetown for Women's Week, as well as copious prides, festivals, clubs not to mention her high ranking status on Olivia cruises. Vickie will charm you immediately with her southern hospitality that is accompanied by her shocking wit. Being a mother and grandmother, Vickie says she just happens to be a lesbian. Her long time partner, Sgt. Patch, has certainly learned how to take a punch line.
This show is relatable to everyone  gay, straight, bi  no matter. Comedy is a human thing and these women have all been there, done that, kinda gals. Everyone is welcome.
