Satuday Suppering at Soul Food Farm - April 23
Join us for this very special Saturday Suppering, featuring:
* a tour of beautiful Soul Food Farm with Owner/Farmer Alexis Koefoed
* table chat with Landscape Historian Gretchen Hilyard, focusing on agricultural history and the importance of local food movements
* a 4-course meal featuring Soul Food Farm eggs and other local produce and sustainable meat/fish (vegetarian option available)

Take a break from the city and join us for a lovely afternoon on the farm, as we engage in community building and discussion around the importance of the food we eat and the land it comes from.

The deal with wine:  suggested pairings are emailed to Supperers in the week before the dinner.  Enjoy the wine you bring, and if you'd like, feel free to share some with your neighbors.

About us:
Soul Food Farm is a family run farm raising pastured chickens for eggs & meat.  Owners/Farmers Alexis & Eric Koefoed believe strongly in issues of community land use, the true cost of feeding people, worker's rights, and the humane treatment of animals.  Their aim is "to provide food that nourishes people's souls as well as their stomachs".

Gretchen Hilyard is an landscape historian and writer living in San Francisco. She has a background in historic preservation and is currently the Public Programming Manager at the San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR) in San Francisco. Gretchen's connection to the local food movement in the Bay Area comes from her studies of agricultural landscapes and her interest in people's connections to their food sources.

Risa Lichtman is a chef in San Francisco.  She is passionate about using food as a means to bring people together and initiate discussion, as well as supporting local farms & products.  She runs a monthly supper club called Sunday Supperings, and is happy to bring SunSups to Soul Food Farms for this special experience.
