Round 3 is an all ages event at Seattle Club Sur! Guests will enjoy the outstanding cuisine and ambiance as dancers arrive in their best costumes, draw songs from a hat, and perform with House of Tarab, a 7-piece ensemble playing classics from the Golden Age of Egyptian cinema. Three expert judges present live feedback on the mic. Audience and judges vote to decide the winner. Together the general public as well as competing dancers and dancers in the audience learn a great deal through this reflective process. At halftime guests are invited to dance, with a special prize for best shimmies!

Touring the NW each year, Belly Dance Off takes place in three preliminary rounds, yielding three Rising Star finalists and three Pro finalists that compete in the annual Grand Championship for titles, trophies, ribbons, tiaras, cash, and other prizes. Round 3 is the last preliminary of the year! Each judge panel consists of two veterans of belly dance with live music, plus a third with expertise in another performing arts field to give a fuller perspective. Round 3 judges are Sabura and Rishi plus Bahaa Sadak, renowned keyboard player originally from Alexandria, Egypt, with decades of experience with belly dancers.
About the Director:
Suzanna is a lifelong cross-disciplinary world dancer with an early foundation in ballet, jazz, and contemporary, as well as a background in theatre. For the past 13 years while working as a professional belly dancer she has discovered much need for dialogue and education among dancers and audiences on this unique dance art form. In 2010 she launched Belly Dance Off, an interactive format designed to engage everyone.
