Hawaiian Steel Guitar Festival
This years festival will again be held in Fort Collins Colorado. Home of Colorado State University and gateway to the northern Rocky Mountains. For the last 28 years, this organization has held an annual gathering on the mainland where members showcase their musicianship, teach each other, jam, and listen to world class Hawaiian Steel guitar. The festival is open to the public.

Thursday: Steel guitar showcase - 9am to 4p, evening ' Talk Story' program after the dinner hour
Friday: Steel guitar showcase - 9am to 4p, No evening program - go have fun and explore Old Town!
Saturday: Steel guitar showcase, Steel Guitar Seminars - 9am to 4pm,
Luau Sat night at the Hilton.
FAQ:
What is the Steel guitar showcase = musicians sign up to play a :25 min. set of steel guitar. Its' kind of like an open stage - but pre planned with assigned playing slots each day. HSGA Members will get priority on all showcase stages. All styles are welcome, but you will hear a lot of Hawaiian music. We want you to share your music. This is typically not a pedal steel showcase. The art of Hawaiian style steel playing on electric lap steels, resonator guitars, and acoustic instruments is the main focus of our event and organization.
What is the Luau: A luau will be held on Sat night - dinner, cash bar, and show - an extra fee is required (TBD based on attendance, but normally about $30 per person)

What is the Playing Schedule? We don't know yet until folks sign up.
Playing slots are assigned on a first-come-first-served basis. We'll take preferences into account. All Sat. slots are filled by the festival committee based on your past performances at HSGA. We try and put our best foot forward on Saturday.
If you want to do a set on stage during the weekend please sign up as you purchase your ticket here, or check the HSGA web site for sign up information. All players will have :25min to perform, and must bring at least two sets of CHARTS for the backup musicians. You will need to round up your own backup folks from volunteers at the festival. There will be many folks willing to play guitar, or uke or bass for you. Or you can bring your own backup folks. However, all performers will need to purchase either a day or weekend pass.
What AIRPORT do I fly to?: DIA in Denver is the fly to location. Many options exist out of DIA for transport to Ft. Collins. There are shuttle services, and rental cars. We recommend Green Ride out of Ft. Collins. http://www.greenrideco.com
Can I join HSGA?: Please consider becoming a member if you are not. Visit http://www.hsga.org to sign up. Membership gets you a regular quarterly newsletter and price breaks at convention hotels and events.
