Romeo and Juliet
This production of Shakespeare's classic love story began with one question: What if the "two households, both alike in dignity," are alike because they have no dignity? Director Bjorn Whitney reimagines Verona as a boom town in the old West, and the households as houses of ill repute. With the nearby mine almost completely dry and money becoming scarce, Montague and Capulet have gone to war with each other and their children become tragically caught in the crossfire.
