DE RIO A LA HABANA
A unique double-bill presentation starring two of the most exciting performers in today's classical music scene, the Brazilian soprano Angelica de la Riva and the Cuban pianist and conductor Orlando Alonso.
This exclusive presentation includes two Sunday-evening performances, opening with a solo piano recital by Mr. Alonso on May 17, and closing with a round-trip voyage of Cuban and Brazilian songs performed by Ms. de la Riva and Mr. Alonso on May 24.
The program will feature works by European, Brazilian, and Cuban masters, including Cervantes, Villa-Lobos, Carlos Gomes, Alberto Costa, Lecuona, Anckerman, André Previn, Messiaen, Vitier, Mompou, Prokofiev, Montsalvatge, and Beethoven.
