Event
February 17th - AIN NYC Regional Meeting - Stephanie Winters
For our next gathering from 6:30-9:30 on Feb. 17th in room 409 of Pearl Studios (500 8th Ave), we've scheduled a presenter who incorporates facilitates with both music with improvisation - Stephanie Winters: http://stephaniewinters.com/
Format for the evening:
* Very quick warm-up and introduction
* Workshop by Stephanie Winters - Singing Your Song In The World: A Workshop About Purpose "... The only thing I knew was something was keeping me dissatisfied. Something wasnʼt making my heart smooth and easy. Then one day my daddy gave me a song ... " *
By taking time to pause and reflect on who we are, where we want to go and how we want to get there, we gain insight.
"...It was my song. It had come from way deep inside me ..." *
This is not a singing workshop, rather a workshop that uses song as a metaphor and live music and theatre for awakening body, mind, and spirit.
"... And that song helped me on the road. Made it smooth to where my footsteps didnʼt bite back at me ..." *
Singing Your Song In The World is for those who wish to clarify their purpose, access their wisdom through reflection, and learn from others by interacting and sharing.
Live cello music and a brief excerpt from Joe Turnerʼs Come and Gone by August Wilson are sources of inspiration for this workshop.
"... When a man forgets his song he goes off in search of it ... till he find out heʼs got it with him all the time... " *
*All Excerpts from Joe Turnerʼs Come and Gone by August Wilson
