About: Meet Market II - A Kinky Auction Party!

Come, meet fabulous kinky people... and buy them.

The Meet Market is a kinky auction where anybody may put themselves up for auction in any capacity they wish. The idea is to have fun, to meet people, to express your interest in others, and to experience the process of being auctioned. The nervousness, the trepidation, the thrill of being treated as a piece of marketable flesh. It's a great experience and a great way to meet new play partners.

The last party was a raging success with rave reviews from many, many people who attended, had a great time, met a lot of people, had fun playing, and enjoyed the energy.

I expect this to be even better as we work out some of the logistical kinks with getting in to door faster, improving sound, actually having the preview, etc.

Timetable:

Doors open: 7:30 PM

Preview period: 8:00 - 8:30 (roughly 30 Minutes)

Auction: 8:30

Play party from end of Auction until closing time at 2:00 AM

You may play in the "back room" during the auction, but please refrain from playing in the main dungeon while the auction is in progress.

You're a BUYER:

You walk into the party, take your coat off, get settled, say hi to a few friends, and wait for the start of the Preview.

At 8:00 you survey the merchandise which will be on the block. Walk up to the property, read their auction cards, ask a few questions and move on. Plan your bidding strategy, take notes on the options, enlist friends to collaborate, get ready to bid!

You're a SELLER:

The Auction is open to all people, any orientation, providing any service or play opportunity you wish. You may sell anything. An important distinction of Meet Market is, that unlike the Master's Den Auction which is strictly Female Sub, everyone is welcome to be auctioned.

Perhaps you're a bottom and you want to experience going "up on the block" and being auctioned in front of a crowd.

Bottoms may go up for general play, for specific scenes or whatever you wish to offer. You may, of course, have limits, and (given some time constraints) it's fair to divulge some of the bigger ones at the auction. For example, if you're a masochist and want a pain scene but absolutely have no interest in bondage, those would be good things to put on your card. We don't need to know everything, you're going to be negotiating with whomever buys you and that's where the details can be worked out.

If you're a Dom and you want to put your Sub up for auction, that's fine as well! You can specify that the winner must negotiate with you, etc. (Of course, the Sub has to confirm that they agree to be auctioned.)

Top's can auction themselves off as well! You may think "Huh? Why would a top auction themselves off?" Well, some tops like to do specific scenes which may not be so common, and if you'd like to try that particular experience, this is a great way to do it!

Do you have a service you'd like to auction? Bootblacking, massage, footrubs, cooking a meal, scrubbing a toilet naked in a french maid outfit with a toilet-scrubber gag with a..... I digress.

Do you have a toy, a gift, etc. that you might want to auction off. Fill out a card for it. Tangible items are fine (and, as they actually have "real" value, we will likely try to auction them off first.)

In short, any Gender, any orientation, any service. We'll auction it all.

Please arrive a little earlier to give you time to write your card and be ready for the preview.

You may, of course be BOTH a Buyer and a Seller.

Dress code:

Dress to impress! After all, if you are up for bid, people will be looking at you to size you up and see how much they want to bid on you. Your clothing (or lack thereof) is part of the package. OR, you'll be buying others in which case you want to be seen as a connoisseur and not just some schlub.

How the Auction will proceed:

1. When you check in with the cashiers you will receive an envelope with auction money. Each envelope will contain a random amount of money. (Same number of bills for everyone, different denominations.) I suggest you keep your money as we may have some surprises for you.

2. If you wish to sell something in the auction, come one of the "Bar" counters in the main play space. There, we will have Auction cards for whatever you wish to auction. You may fill out two cards if you wish to go up for sale twice, or have something to auction aside from yourself. Two is the limit.

2. Fill out your Auction card and bring it back to the Auction assistants at the Bar, or to Torque.

3. If you wish, you may pay $5 and buy another envelope. You may buy up to two extra envelopes. (We will not run out this time.)

6. When it is Preview time all Items (Bottoms, Subs, Tops, Doms, Service providers, etc.) who wish will line up around the dungeon, at various play stations, etc., and allow your prospective buyers to meet, inspect you (visually), chat, and read your Auction card. (You may still be auctioned if you choose to skip the preview.)

7. At Auction time we will take all the cards and start auctioning. We will try to make it fun, but still keep it moving so we don't burn too much play time. The auction will be held in the main dungeon area. People my of course play in the back room while the auction is going on, but the main dungeon is closed for play for the duration of the auction.

8. When you are sold, proceed to the person who bought you and get paid immediately. Any money you get is yours, to keep and use during the remainder of the auction. We understand the urge to start chatting/negotiating right away, but please refrain, or move to the social area so as not to impact the auction.

A few notes about being Auctioned:

1. If you buy someone at auction, you have actually only bought THE RIGHT TO NEGOTIATE for the service, scene, etc. (The exception is for tangible items like a flogger which will be actually delivered at settlement.)

2. Having said that, if you choose to go on the auction block you are going IN GOOD FAITH that you will try to work something out with the person who bought you that is close to what was offered.
However, GOOD FAITH is not the same as OBLIGATION. There is NO obligation to make a scene happen, if you feel you're not happy or comfortable proceeding.

3. IT IS NOT AN "EXPERIENCE." To be specific, do not go up on the auction block only for the "experience of being auctioned". It's not fair to the people who bid or buy you.

4. SET EXPECTATIONS AT AUCTION TIME. For example, It's a reasonable default expectation that your purchaser would expect to play with you right after the Auction. It's not fair if you reply, no, I already have plans, we'll have to do it some other day. If that's the case, please state it up front at auction time so expectations are met.

5. You may indicate on the card that the auctioneer may interact with you and treat you as a submissive for the auction, this may entail asking you to do positions, perform actions, etc. Nothing brutal and all hopefully fun and supportive. OR you can skip this. It depends on how you want your auction experience to go.

Lastly:

Let's all remember, that the goal of an auction is to meet people and to have fun. Let's all remember that this is an imperfect way to meet people, and let's allow for the occasional communication mistake. Err on the side of consent.

If there are any problems with your auction experience, the party hosts want to know about it as soon as possible.

Volunteers: For work exchange to attend the Meet Market please e-mail: SFMeetMarket@gmail (Note: do not request to volunteer as a "placeholder" until you firm up your plans. At the last Meet Market we filled all the volunteer slots very quickly only to have over half of them cancel in the last 48 hours. This made things difficult, so please only volunteer if you are sure. Thank you.)
