The Milk Lady's Son
It is the autumn of 1958. Two 11 year old boys are fighting on the slippery surface of a drainpipe overlooking the mighty Mississippi River. Dwight Lilja, the smaller of the two, loses traction and falls into the torrent - a victim of an immense current.
Fifty-one years later, the survivor, Michael Weindruk, lies on his death bed seeking to confess and remedy the secret he has preserved for almost two generations. Bedside, looms family and friends, significant players in the accounting and resolution to which a dying man is about to offer.
The Milk Lady's Son is an intense drama, examining the moral compasses of two unique generations, and the attempt to measure the challenges of those who carry a tragedy from part of one century to the next. Intrigue, culpability, and compassion are themes that will leave the audience with much to dissect and deliberate about after this powerful and compelling production.
