Saturday, July 18th--An Evening with Lula Cafe
2:30pm: Everyone will meet at the lovely Greenhouse Bed and Breakfast -- just down the road from Mint Creek Farm. We'll gather on the trolley and head to Mint Creek Farm for a first-hand, interactive tour of our farm, where you'll get out amongst the animals and learn all the ins and outs of the place from head farmer Harry Carr. We recommend wearing shoes you don't mind getting dirty.
5pm(ish): The trolley will return guests to the Greenhouse Bed and Breakfast where we'll enjoy a fantastic meal prepared by Chef de Cuisine Sarah Rinkavage of Lula Cafe. Her meal will feature various Mint Creek meats, as well as available produce from Three Plaid Farmers.
Appetizers: Grilled flat breads with a swiss chard and pistachio spread; Roasted and sliced pork shoulder wrapped around asparagus and cherries; Eggplant and lamb belly skewers
Dinner: Steamed Lamb in tomatillo broth with barley, marinated cabbage, and spicy mustard greens; Grilled cucumbers with buttermilk, smoky tea vin, garden herbs; Marinated Beets with black raspberries, basil, creme fraiche; Green Beans with roasted peach, almonds, summer savory
Dessert: Angel Food Cake, garden herbs, white chocolate, summer fruit
BYOB -- Bring your favorite libation(s) to pair with your tour and meal and we'll be off to the races!
These are incredibly kid-friendly events, and might just be the perfect way to spend a summer evening. We'd love to see you!
