Composed as an acoustic play, by Playwright and musical composer Susan Parenti, this is an attempted fuller staging, with director Stefan Brün at Prop Thtr and for tour.
from the playwright:
"Unrequited is a probe to find out what happens if the usual framing around socialism and capitalism is turned on its head---that rather than portray them as adversarial enemies, I portray them as embedded lovers.
Unrequited is an 'acoustic play': a play where the soundingess of the sentence constructs (gesture, pitch,inflection, timbre, rhythm, loudness and softness) act as antagonist and protagonist. Act 3 is written in music notation, with the sentences that had been spoken in Acts 1 and 2, now are sung, screeched, counterpointed against one another.
